Communications Minister clarifies Clarín authorization for Refarming

Government sources confirmed to Convergencialatina that in the coming days the approval of the refarming request will be published, which will authorize Grupo Clarín to use the 2.5 GHz frequency bands, which it acquired when it purchased Trixco, Callbi, Infotel, Skyonline, Netizen and Eritown through Nextel, to provide mobile service.

Last Tuesday, Communications Minister Oscar Aguad announced that "soon there would be news that would improve the quality of communications and prices", criticizing the quality and tariffs of the services of existing providers. "That has to do with the entry of a fourth operator. With the news referred to the regulations of Decree 1340 and the refarming regulation. The arrival of another company will inevitably influence the quality of the providers", said to Convergencialatina sources from the ministry.
