TV Azteca sales grew 4% in last quarter 2016

TV Azteca's sales during the last quarter of 2016 reached a total of US$215.93 million, an increase of 4% compared to the same period of the previous year. The company reported an EBITDA of US$73.7 million, which in this case represents a 21% increase.

The second Spanish-language television content producer noted that in the period it reduced its net loss to US$9.03 million from the US$25.5 million reported in the last quarter of 2015.

"World-class content represented an unparalleled platform to reach the audiences our advertisers are looking for, thus driving sales for the quarter. Higher revenues, combined with solid production efficiency, resulted in a strong EBITDA expansion", said Benjamín Salinas, CEO of TV Azteca.

Government analyzes partial privatization of Copaco

Furthermore, the lack of investments led to the obsolescence of its infrastructure. Oscar Stark, president of the firm, states that alternatives are being evaluated to obtain the necessary funds, including the possibility of adding private partners. And he believes that in 18 months "the situation will be resolved."
