The Comisión Federal de Comunicaciones de Estados Unidos (FCC) began yesterday reviewing the network neutrality agreement established in 2015. The FCC accepted, by two votes to one, the proposal of its current president, Ajit Pai, to stop regulating the broadband as if it were an essential service.
The proposal is to suspend the 2015 rule, which allowed the FCC to monitor the practices of access providers and reclassify access to the Internet as a private mobile service "due to the history of innovation and success in the mobile market," says the agency in a statement. The FCC will accept comments on its proposal until August 16, and will make a final decision after analyzing the opinions received.
