Private sector invested US$ 12.82 billion in telco infrastructure since the reform

President Enrique Peña Nieto informed yesterday at the official residence of Los Pinos, where the Executive met with businessmen of the sector to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the promulgation of the telecommunications and broadcasting reform.

"This evolution is no accident. Businessmen in the industry are aware of the advantages of a sector that is now much more open to competition and innovation; a sector that also has the certainty of being regulated by an autonomous and technically sound institution such as the Federal Telecommunications Institute," said the president.

He added that the telecommunications sector grew, from 2013 to date, at a rate of 10% per year, almost four times higher than the growth of the economy as a whole.
