Among the presentations at CES 2018 for the health segment, La Roche-Posay unveiled its UV Sense sensor, a portable device without a battery that measures the UV exposure received. Stores up to three months of data and is less than 2 millimeters thick, 9 millimeters in diameter and designed to be used in miniature, for example in a nail, arm, or any part exposed to the sun. It is associated with an application, available for iOS and Android, that alerts the user about their exposure levels.
Royal Phillips, meanwhile, presented SmartSleep, a wearable solution to improve the quality of deep sleep for people who do not get enough sleep. It is designed with two small sensors that detect periods of slow wave sleep and intervene with clinically proven technology to generate stimulations in real time. Philips proprietary advanced sleep analysis algorithms - developed with the collaboration of sleep experts and neurologists - produce personalized audio tones that enhance the depth and duration of slow wave sleep.
