IFT expects a minimum collection of US$16 million for satellite spectrum tender

The Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) (Telecom regulator) will tender spectrum for satellite add-on. They are two blocks of 20 MHz of national coverage that will be awarded at the end of August and for 15 years. The companies HNS and Omnitracs are the natural candidates to take over this resource.

The tender will begin on April 29, with the delivery of expressions of interest, and with the questions that the interested parties have formulated after reading the tender general specifications that this Monday 22 April were published on the IFT website and in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF) (Official Journal of the Federation), in the case of the call to the entire bidding process.

It is foreseen that the license titles will be signed and delivered to the awardees of the tender between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.
