The speed with which new challenges of income assurance and fraud control appear, the complexity, budgets and staff structures of the operators oblige to implement software in shorter times, going from projects that could take a year, to only a few months. Based on this and concrete demands from its customers, WeDo launched this week WAVE, a managed services offer diagrammed around its software portfolio and with different options: from joint work in the definition of the strategy to the operation and from the application layer to the infrastructure layer.
For Bernardo Lucas, CMO of WeDo, traditionally managed services have been used to outsource non-strategic functions for the operator under what is known as Business Process Outsourcing. The proposal with WAVE is that the provider, in this case WeDo, through the services managed, add a specific expertise to the operator's business and work jointly with the latter.
"They are complementary functions, not substitutes", clarified Rui Paiva, CEO of WeDo, exemplifying that in 5G, with network slicing, in an extreme case a specialist could be needed for each vertical industry, and that would be impracticable, so it makes sense for The provider has some central functions managed and leave the specific for internal teams.
In 2018, WeDo added orders for more than € 60 million, with 14% growth in managed services and managing 10 projects of the consulting unit launched last year.
