The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, said that Huawei wants to install 5G technology in the country, after receiving the president of the Chinese company, Wei Yao.
Bolsonaro stressed that Huawei made clear its interest, although he said he had not discussed the spectrum auction to introduce such technology with his interlocutor.
"There was no proposal, he (Yao) simply showed that he wants 5G in Brazil," Bolsonaro said in statements to reporters. "I didn't hear the word auction. If he said it, I was clueless."
