The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) published Supreme Decree No. 002-2020-MTC, which modifies the Regulations of the Broadband Law. The regulations redefine the concept of regional networks, so that regional transport operators can provide, prior public tender, final services to users. It also enables the RDNFO operator to provide international connectivity services.
The modification incorporates general criteria to define the rates applicable to the networks, such as tariff flexibility to allow discounts for volume, capacity and contracting time, among others.
The MTC clarified that the publication of the decree does not imply changes in the current contracts.
