Last May, the pay TV market had a loss of more than 75,000 customers compared to the previous month, thus increasing monthly losses that had initially decreased at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, according to data from the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Anatel) (Telecom Regulator).
Claro recorded the largest losses, with 51,000 less customers and a total of 7.45 million subscribers. For its part, Sky gained 5,000 clients and closed the month with 4.56 million, mainly due to the absorption of Algar's clients.
