In September TIM will launch its 5G service

TIM President Pietro Labriola announced that the company will launch its 5G service during the month of September, under an FWA model, in three cities and in areas where it does not have a presence with fiber optics.

The cities chosen for the launch are: Bento Goncalves (Rio Grande do Sul), Itajubá (Minas Gerais) and Tres Lagoas (Mato Grooso do Sul), with equipment supplied by Nokia, Ericsson and Huawei, who will use the current 4G bands to 5G service.

América Móvil's earnings fell 55% due to peso strength

It reached US$ 790 million in the first quarter of the year. Total revenues and Ebitda were also affected by the extraordinary income from the sale of towers, which boosted the result of a year earlier. Total mobile subscriptions grew 3.6% year-on-year to 311.6 million lines. Fixed UGIs totaled 74.1 million, 1% more than a year earlier.
