Chile has the lowest price of 1 GB in Latin America

The study carried out by the British operator Cable related to mobile data plans in 228 countries reflects the average cost of one gigabyte (1 GB) in each of these markets during the first quarter of 2020. Chile ranks 20th among the countries with the lowest average price, which was established at US$ 0.71.

Wom's CMO, Sebastián Precht, explained that the entry of new operators, -among which is Wom- and several MVNOs, as well as the facilities granted to the number portability process, produced a great change in telecommunications throughout the country in the last five years. The executive highlighted that the cost of the plans fell by over 40%, while the value of the gigabyte did so by 98%.
