Alejandro Adamowicz, Director of Technology for GSMA Latin America, foresaw that the ICT sector in Latin America will move from contributing 5% of the current GDP to representing 5.5% in 2020, equivalent to more than US$315 billion. Investments in the sector until 2020 will reach US$76 billion. For Adamowicz, two major demands the industry generates are spectrum (5G will need four times the spectrum allocated in the more developed countries) and permits to deploy infrastructure.
