New ICTs and global connectivity to achieve UN Sustainable Development goals

Brahima Sanou, director of ITU's Telecommunication Development Bureau, reiterated that the agency's main challenge remains to connect the 3.9 billion people in the world who still do not have access to ICTs. For Sanou, achieving the UN Sustainable Development goals requires the advancement of "new ICTs" (5G, cloud, IA, IoT), and connectivity deployment.
