Paraguay to use its universal service to arrive with fiber optics to the six municipalities having still disconnected people

Fiber optic reaches 252 out of the 258 municipalities of the country, but the six that remain disconnected are the most difficult, said to Convergencialatina Teresita Palacios, president of Conatel. "With the universal service fund we will seek to expand the fiber in El Chaco, a locality where there are few inhabitants, is not very attractive and where it is difficult to sustain the service. We are working with operators to see how we can make the project more saleable and combine with 4G coverage which we set forth as a requirement in the 700 MHz tender, she said. "Palacios also stated that operators will be using the 700 MHz band by the end of July or the beginning of August. She said that she is working with the Interference Mitigation Commission to resolve some interferences that still remained with the audiovisual sector and with other countries.
