AT&T was left with four blocks of 20 MHz (including two in TDD) and Movistar obtained another two blocks of 20 MHz of spectrum in the auction of the 2.5 GHz band that the Federal Telecommunications Institute carried out yesterday. The US operator must pay US$ 76 million for its 80 MHz, while Telefónica will have to pay US$ 37 million for its 40 MHz. This way, the spectrum allocated for mobile services in Mexico increased by 26.5%.
