The vice president of the company, Lincoln Oliveira, told Convergencia that "the StarOne D2 satellite will be launched by the end of 2019 and will double the capacity of the Ka band in Brazil as it will expand the Ka band of the StarOne D1 launched in 2016". In addition, he informed that "the C band will have more power to allow better digital services in the video market and together with the Ku band they will reach all South America". In relation to the Ka band, it will be intended to Brazil but it does not rule out covering other regions.
