This is the first LTE deployment in Brazil for the automation of electrical networks, and aims to restore power after blackouts, in addition to improving the delivery of electricity in Atibaia and in certain areas of the state of San Pablo. It will connect smart meters and other equipment to monitor the use of energy and it is estimated that some 75,000 customers will be able to modify their consumption patterns and thus save money on their service payments. With the implementation of Nokia, Elektro could achieve an increase in network reliability of up to 50%, and a reduction in commercial costs of up to 80%.
