ITU-T Study Group 5 approved a new Recommendation on assessing the environmental impact of the ICT sector and approved 22 new work items at its recent meeting

The meeting was held in Geneva from September 11 to September 21 with 12 other Recommendations also consented.

ITU-T Study Group 5 (SG5) held its meeting in Geneva from September 11 to September 21, which concluded with 1 Recommendation approved, 12 Recommendations consented, 22 new work items approved and 8 new texts agreed. The new approved Recommendation contains the methodologies for assessing the environmental impact of the ICT sector, with a view to contribute to reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set in the UN’s 2030 Agenda. .
