ITC Córdoba will make a testbed of intelligent traffic lights in Rio Tercero

The ISP present in 26 locations in Córdoba is working on the initiative together with Seebot, a Brazilian company that developed the technology four years ago. Yesterday during Internet Day an agreement was signed between ITC and Seebot, which was joined by the support of Cabase and the Brazilian Association of Internet of Things (Abinc). Federico Torres, manager of the ITC Engineering Department, told Convergencialatina that an agreement has already been signed with the municipality of Río Tercero to do the proof of concept in that city of Cordoba. The smart box that will be installed in traffic lights will work by means of recognition of images with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect the type of vehicle that circulates, to specify if it is an emergency service or a pedestrian, to identify patents and to reconstruct traffic accidents, between other functionalities The technology developed by Seebot - both hardware and software - is implemented in two Brazilian states so far (Paraná and another one that can not yet communicate), according to Aleksandro Montanha, CEO of the company. In addition, there is a proof of concept currently under development in the United States.
