The digitization of the manufacturing industry towards concepts 4.0 is still very low

Only 6% of the industries have advanced technologies and are taking actions to get closer to the 4.0 border, according to the survey “Travesía 4.0: towards the Argentine industrial transformation”, carried out by the UIA (Argentine Industrial Union) and other entities. At the moment the automation did not generate unemployment: it was due to another reason that companies increased their personnel than those that reduced them as a result of technological innovation.

There are no 100% 4.0 companies in the Argentine manufacturing industry. Only 6% of industries have advanced technologies and are taking actions to approach the 4.0 border. Half of companies continue to use first and second generation technologies and seem inactive in the face of change. In the middle, another large group - 44% - has intermediate technologies and is dynamic when adopting new generation systems.
