Faria: Upcoming spectrum tender to attract many interested parties, including Elon Musk

The Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, pointed out that the next 5G spectrum tender will attract many interested parties and one of them could be the American millionaire Elon Musk, founder of Tesla.

Faria said that “we have advertised 5G all over the world; everyone wants to be part of the Rede Norte Conectado program because fiber optics will be placed in the subfluvial Amazon without even cutting a tree branch. That, for outside companies, is something extraordinary, combining the Internet with sustainability.”

He explained that in his recent visit to New York he held a meeting with the Musk group, who were interested in supplying Internet in Brazil via satellite, which would be one of the markets that the businessman would be observing.
