Satellite Map Day 2022

Eutelsat anticipates its ADVANCE LEO offer to be available throughout the planet in 2023

Ignacio González Núñez, VP Business Development and Regulatory Strategy for the Americas at Eutelsat, said at Satellite Map Day 2022 that, in collaboration with Oneweb, they already provide services north of 50º latitude, and this will be extended to areas of Latin America. “We are already in North America providing services in GEO and LEO”, he stated.

ADVANCE LEO is the sixth category in the Eutelsat ADVANCE portfolio, unveiled last year during Convergencialatina event, and made up of ADVANCE Marítimo, Companies, Aviation, Telecommunications and Government.

"With LEO we are going to add to our portfolio key elements such as latency below 70 ms and high performance, such as reliability and quality of systems, with the possibility of high transmission speeds and system expansion capabilities", added Gonzalez Nunez.

Oscar Stark, president of the firm, states that alternatives are being evaluated to obtain the necessary funds, including the possibility of adding private partners. And he believes that in 18 months "the situation will be resolved."
