Zelmar Rodríguez Crespo, administrator of the National Authority of Public Services (ASEP), stated in an interview with La Prensa that they are preparing to auction spectrum in the 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands exclusively for 5G.
Crespo noted that a public consultation is currently underway, which will last until October 30, to define the National Frequency Allocation Plan. She also mentioned that a "cleanup of bands" will need to be conducted. The auction is expected to take place in mid-2025.
