Government to receive US$1.55 billion for the new concessions to Claro and Millicom

The Ecuadorian government will receive more than US$ 1.55 billion from payments made by operators Claro and Millicom over the course of their concession, which expires in 2038.

Minister of Telecommunications Roberto Kury explained that the new concessions include commitments from the operators, such as the deployment of 5G, for which the ministry will allocate new frequency bands.

In addition, the operators will connect 400 schools and establish more than 600 new connectivity sites using 4G or higher technology.
