The proposal for changes to Peruvian Frequency Plan includes 26 GHz, Wifi 6, HAPS, TVWS and Band E

The South American country is once again at the forefront in Latin America. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) submitted two projects that introduce modifications to the National Plan for Frequency Allocation for public consultation. At the same time, Congress established Internet access as a fundamental right.

Peru's decisions regarding spectrum identification has once again placed the country as a pioneer in Latin America. Two new resolutions were put into discussion in the ICT sector - since they will be subject to public consultation - the identification of frequencies for HAPS and TVWS, and in 26 GHz and the E band. It should be remembered that in 2020 the MTC was nominated for the “Most Innovative Regulator of 2020 ”following its studies for the identification and allocation of continuous 500 MHz of 3.5 GHz spectrum for 5G.
