Digital agriculture or “agtech” manifests itself in Latin America through five use cases: consulting, financial services, supply, agricultural e-commerce and smart farming. In Argentina, with an ecosystem of about 140 companies, the most advanced vertical is the marketplaces of inputs and production, or both simultaneously: not only were they very useful in the face of the logistical complications of the pandemic in the interior of the country, rather, they function as a spearhead for other models of timid incursion at the local level, such as smart agriculture and the use of digital tools to boost sources of financing for smaller producers.
