As part of the project to install the mining company Cobre Quebradona in Colombia, a 5G pilot test was carried out together with Tigo and Nokia. Andrés López, Innovation Manager at AngloGold, entrusted Convergencialatina the details of the project, which will also be shared this Wednesday at the Big Players Map Day 2021 event.

AngloGold Ashanti is a gold producer worldwide, but for the Cobre Quebradona mining project in Jericó (Antioquia, Colombia), it decided to venture into copper, with a projection of 4.9 million tons. Investments of US$1.400 billion are contemplated for the construction of the mine. With the idea of ??approaching this project under the premises of sustainability, reliability, efficiency and productivity, a year ago the firm designed a Mining 4.0 program, through conversations with experts about the benefits of artificial intelligence, predictability of fatigue in mining operations, blockchain, augmented reality and 5G.
