Carme Artigas, Spanish Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, presented the document, which aims to strengthen the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms in the digital environment. The Charter is normative, not regulatory: it provides a framework for action by public authorities and will be subject to public consultation. Comments may be submitted until December 4.
Among the rights cited in the Charter are that of identity in the digital environment, pseudonymity, not being located and profiled, digital security, digital inheritance, citizen participation through digital means, education, access to data for scientific research, innovation and development, among others.
