The total amount is US$23,362,641 and comes after the inclusion of a new article in the Budget and Income Law so that during 2021 the Fondo Único de las TIC (FUTIC) (Single ICT Fund) will finance the digital transformation strategy of national communication media, including press, radio and TV.
It was approved by Minister Karen Abudinen and the FUTIC will be in charge of distributing the money; said entity was created in 2019. According to the Ministry of ICT, during 2020 the highest investment in the history of TV Pública and the audiovisual industry, allocating a budget of US$80,120,115 to modernize infrastructure, strengthen content and train personnel.
