It will do so through its subsidiary Edemsa Peru. The contract between the Colombian and the Peruvian government amounts to US$292 million and was signed two years ago. For the second quarter of next year, the underwater fiber optic cable will come into operation. Edemsa will deploy a 5,800-kilometer network and 830 microwave antenna nodes, thanks to which broadband will be provided to 942 towns, 800,000 inhabitants and 2,267 institutions such as educational centers, police stations and health posts.
Grupo Ethuss operates in the infrastructure, electric power, ICT, oil and gas, and mining and metals sectors. The Peruvian subsidiary of the company is in charge of the regional project for the regions of Puno, Junín, Moquegua and Tacna, through the Orocom company, a company that was created especially for this project.
