Japan House, located in São Paulo, adopted NEC's facial recognition to understand and facilitate the movement of visitors, employees and service providers. Inaugurated in 2017, the house, whose mission is to work with art, technology, culture based on Japanese values, has already received more than 2.7 million visits in person and more than 51 million virtual visits.
In 2019, says the president of Japan House, Eric Klug, to participate in the Smarter Cities & Digital ID, this jueves 17/11, NEC implemented the NeoFace Watch, a facial recognition system that allows the identification of people, registered and with corresponding authorization. “We are very concerned about complying with the General Data Protection Law. We understand people's concern for their information”, he reinforced.
The executive recalled that, in 2020, the recognition challenge for masks was up, but adjustments were made and the security process worked. This year, added, Japan House updated its system and adopted FieldAnalyst from NEC, which allows counting visitors, identifying gender and carrying out reconnaissance without any type of personal contact.
“We are advancing in the use of technology, but for us the use of technology has to be subtle and almost invisible for those who visit us and for those who work here or assist us. Because we supposedly need security, but the technology has to be friendly", says Eric Klug. Japan House has three houses in the world: in Los Angeles, in the United States, in London and in São Paulo.
