Maniewicz highlights the potential of the satellite sector in Argentina

Mario Maniewicz, director of the Radiocommunication Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), talked to Convergencia during his visit to Argentina. In 2019, Maniewicz visited INVAP and was very impressed with the facilities and scientific and technical knowledge in the construction of satellites. In this opportunity, his presence in Argentina had to do with the commitment to visit Arsat's Benavídez facilities. In conclusion, he considered that "there is a praiseworthy technical, scientific and operative knowledge capacity in Argentina regarding satellite issues. It is at the state of the art level worldwide and it is worthy to be exhibited abroad, to be promoted accordingly and even to look for business opportunities to develop and manufacture satellites for other countries."

The visit also included visits to the Secretariat of Public Innovation and the regulator Enacom to discuss issues related to the implementation of 5G in Argentina and the preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) 2023.
