Before President Gustavo Petro, the lawyer Mauricio Lizcano was sworn in as the new Minister of Information and Communications Technologies. "We are going to work as a team with the Government, the industry, the communities, and the actors of the sector to bring connectivity to the most remote regions of Colombia and thus, tackle inequality and poverty; we are here to execute and make things happen. This is a very important sector, Colombia will only make a real economic leap if technology is the cornerstone," said ICT Minister Mauricio Lizcano.
Mauricio Lizcano is a lawyer from Universidad del Rosario with a specialization in Management, Government, and Public Affairs from Universidad Externado de Colombia in association with Columbia University, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, and a Master in Business Administration and academic researcher graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has more than 23 years of experience working for the country in management positions in different regional and national public entities but has no previous experience in the sector.
