Satellite Map Day 2024

Astranis has a backlog of 14 satellites, equivalent to US$1.2 billion

On April 30, 2023, the company launched its first Micro GEO satellite and the next two missions are scheduled for the third quarter of 2024 and the second half of 2025. Giuseppe Ferraioli, Sales Commercial Director at Astranis, explained last Wednesday during the second day of the Satellite Map Day 2024 event that these are dedicated service-mode satellites. They are manufactured at the company's plant in San Francisco, where they produce up to two satellites per month, ensuring faster replacements.

Astranis plans to launch a constellation of "Utility-Sat" satellites, multifunctional for bridge services, disaster recovery, or potential redundancy. Additionally, a second generation of satellites called "Omega" is projected for 2026.

Currently, the company has over 300 employees, but Ferraioli indicated they anticipate reaching 500 by the end of 2024.
