Roberto Nobile, CEO of Telecom Argentina, announced this yesterday in a panel at the ATVC International Conference 2024. During a panel he shared with his Millicom counterpart, Marcelo Benítez, he stressed the need for the country's companies to adapt to the technological change: “Argentina has to do a “catch-up”.
Nobile in particular mentioned the case of Arsat. “It is necessary to have a reading of what government is going to do with Arsat spectrum. Telecom made a large investment in the 5G spectrum, so we need to understand what government strategy is.”
In turn, Benítez called for “working on the digitalization of contact points to improve the customer experience. We still have uncovered populations, it is a mission for us to continue expanding the networks.”
Millicom's strategy is based on “focused cooperation, in which connectivity has to be available according to the customer's expectations. The second important thing is to become a much more agile company. The hierarchy is not important, but the solution to the problem. The focus is on the customer and on achieving a more agile and collaborative operating model. Greater efficiency and priorities go in that direction, understanding that this demand for data turns into consumption, but not necessarily into income.”
