China Mobile presents its “AI+Network” innovation program and first results with L4 autonomous networks

The Executive VP of the Asian operator, Li Huidi, made two proposals to the industry: promoting autonomous networks and 5G-Advanced; and collaborating with standards and industry organizations to improve AI governance in telecommunications.

In this context, China Mobile presented the results of the implementation of L4 autonomous networks in various scenarios. This type of network is activated for provisioning 5G private networks, Clouds, and private data.

"AI makes the delivery of these services faster and more agile by allowing end-to-end automation to completely replace manual operations and improving the accuracy of dumb resource identification. Now, a service can be provided in hours, and 95% of resource allocation can be successfully completed with a single operation. Additionally, AI is making installation, maintenance, and quality inspection more efficient by enhancing installation and geofence recognition. Now, 99% of installation tasks can be completed with a single site visit," the company explained in a statement.

The autonomy of the L4 network also contributes to monitoring changes in core networks, transport networks, and IP networks, while digital twins are used to make network change solutions visualized, customizable, and verifiable.
