The 5G network infrastructure in Brazil’s main capitals needs an average increase of 23% in the number of radio base stations, according to a study by the Institute for Research on the Digital Economy (IPE Digital).
Among the examples cited in the study, it is noted that the city of San Pablo currently has 7,200 5G antennas, while according to the model required by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), it should have more than 9,000 radio base stations—26% more than it currently has.
