The Special Tax Regime for Data Center Services (Régimen Especial de Tributación para Servicios de Datacenter, Redata) was included on the list of priority issues to be addressed by the National Congress starting next week.
The decision was announced following a meeting between President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Chamber of Deputies President Hugo Motta and Senate President Davi Alcolumbre.
Redata provides tax incentives to companies that establish or expand data centers in Brazil. The aim is to boost the information technology sector while promoting the use of clean energy and investment in research and innovation.
