The construction of the Brazil-Europe submarine cable of EllaLink begins

The Alcatel Submarine Networks company has begun constructing of the Brazil-Europe submarine cable for the company EllaLink, which will own the cable and will be in charge of its commercial exploitation.

Until the end of last year, EllaLink was a joint venture between Telebras and Spain's EulaLink, but last October Telebras announced that it would withdraw from the business and change its shares and financial contributions in exchange for the right to use the cable. The cable will be 9,200 km long and will connect the datacenters of Madrid (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Meselha (France), Fortaleza and San Pablo (Brazil).
