MinTIC receives 10 offers to connect public schools in 10,000 towns

The ministry took a new step in the process of awarding the rural connectivity project with the closing of the receipt of offers from the public tender that seeks to connect official schools in 10,000 population centers for 10 years.

The proponents interested in bringing the free high-speed Internet service to villages and townships of 1,102 municipalities were: Unión temporal Red Iris; Unión temporal Red; Edemsatel; Unión temporal ETB Net; Unión Temporal COnexo TIC; Unión Temporal Conectando a Colombia; COMCEL S.A.; Unión Temporal Ses Inred; Unión Temporal Centros Poblados Colombia 2020, and China Great Wall Industry Corporation.

Now the portfolio will evaluate the proposals received and the award hearing will be held on November 23, the day on which operators who will be in charge of the deployment will be known.
