Customs has confiscated 3,000 set-top-boxes, which were in transit to Paraguay, which are capable of capturing coded signals perfectly, besides the free signals. The accusation was made by the Swiss company Nagravisión, member of the Kudelski group, which develops the signal coding system, used by several companies providing satellite television. The company has explained that the claim is founded on the fact that devices confiscated have a chip that decodes signals aimed at pay service. The devices are traded in stores in Montevideo and in the border with Brazil, and its costs varies between US$200 and US$500.
