Tigo launches LTE in Honduras

So far, the operator coverage will reach the cities of San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa and La Ceiba. Customers of  Smart  plans (from US$40 per month)  or those who hire prepaid Internet packages (either monthly, US$ 26.77, with 5.5 GB and Tigo Music; or weekly, from US$ 9.47 to 2.5 GB) will be able to access LTE services.

Antonio Tavel, president of the Board of Tigo, said: "Tigo has always distinguished itself as a pioneer in telecommunications in the country and it is a great pleasure for us to provide this new technology that allows our more than 4.9 million customers to join a unique digital life style. "

Tigo obtained  AWS spectrum in October 2013, in the tender launched by the Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Conatel)( Telecom regulator) which was also awarded to Claro.
