According to the rules and calling for the tender, which were published on Friday in the Official Gazette, a minimum price of US$56.43 million per block for sub-band AWS-1 and US$7.84 million per block for the AWS-3 b ase AWS-3 extended were established.
The tender to be held by combinatorial clock auction will start on February 15. Three blocks of 5+5 MHz of the sub-band AWS-1, three of 5 + 5 MH in the sub-band AWS-3 Base and two blocks of 5 + 5 MHz in the extended band will be tendered. As from December 2 regulator will receive questions from interested parties and between 4 and 5 January notifications of certificates of participation will be made.
The document details that currently 60 MHz of the AWS band, however, the block D is segmented into regions, whereby this tender contemplates it for effective rearrangement of the band in national blocks. "If the current licensees of Block D participate in the tender, in order to simplify the process, Block D shall be included in the tender process", the statement said.
Alejandro Navarrete, director of the Unit of Radio Spectrum of the IFT said that "all stakeholders that are part of the same group of economic interest that as of to the date of submission of the information to participate holds spectrum in the AWS band, should accept the possibility that their spectrum is reorganized within the sub-band AWS-1, as a condition to participate. "
The bid security will be US$108 million and will be valid until July 15, 2016.
