Azteca has invested more than US$ 400 million in networks in Colombia since 2012

"The country has the capacity to meet the demand for Internet for 30 years," said Nibaldo Toledo Takahashi, manager of Azteca Communications. With the deployment of its network (20,000 km) covered 900 municipalities and is an infrastructure that is used by 82 operators in different Colombian cities. "Those that we have not reached are remote sites or because another company is responsible for that area," he said.

The executive said they hope to begin to control losses by mid-2017 generated by years of investment, which reached between US$ 4 million and US$ 5 million semiannually. "A telecommunications business requires a large investment contribution, called user acquisition costs; therefore it is normal to have this kind of loss."

The Salinas group has injected more than US$ 50 million this year and in Azteca plans to improve infrastructure.
