With 45 votes in favor, the presidents of the clubs that make up the National Association of Professional Soccer (ANFP, for its Spanish acronym) approved the offer of the Turner Group to stay with the Football Channel for the next 15 years.
Hours before the council, Fox Sports - a company that lost to Turner - would have sent a generous offer to the offices of BTG Pactual, an investor bank hired to advise on the process. However, that proposal did not prosper in the Council of Presidents, according to Radio Biobio.
Jorge Claro, owner of 20% of the CDF, will receive about US$ 270 million, while the clubs will receive US$ 3.2 million. These resources will be delivered in the long term.
