Eutelsat, Intelsat, SES, Star One and Telesat agree to release their C-band spectrum within the deadlines set by the FCC

The Wireless Telecommunications Office of the US regulator yesterday reported that the commitment of the five satellite operators was secured. The 3.7 GHz band will be released for 5G and the companies will receive compensation of US$ 9.7 billion. Intelsat will obtain US$ 4.87 million; SES, US$ 3.97 million; Eutelsat, US$ 507 million; Telesat, US$ 344 million; and Star One, US$ 15 million.

Band C public auction will kick off on December 8. First, operators must release 120 MHz in 46 partial economic areas, by December 5, 2021.

Panama begins 5G era with Más Móvil pilots and plan to allocate more spectrum

The Cable & Wireless operator brand carries out tests with commercial, tourism and port firms for a period of two to three months with spectrum provided free of charge by the regulator ASEP.
