"Without connectivity there is no inclusion in the 21st century and that is why we want to make Bogotá a smart city, safer and more transparent for all its citizens," said Claudia López, mayor of the capital.
Ágata is made up of the Bogotá Telecommunications Company - ETB (51%), the Bogotá Energy Group (40%), the Cadastre Administrative Unit (7%), the Bogotá Aqueduct and Sewerage Company (1%) the District Planning Secretariat (1%).
Ágata will allow informal merchants to have access to microcredits from the financial system, connect data from the city's security cameras with information on crimes to act predictively, allow the adoption of new emerging technologies to fight corruption and promote the use of technologies as blockchain to secure procurement data and information in public spending.
