In 2020, mobile data revenues tripled those of voice service

In 2020, the service revenues of the main mobile operators registered a drop in the first two quarters but then rebounded due to a sharp rise in data traffic, which resulted in an annual collection of US$2.547.6 billion, more than triple the revenue generated by the voice service, which raised US$735.6 million, according to a report by the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Anatel) (Telecom Regulator).

The report also states that after five continuous years of decline, in 2020 the number of mobile lines had a growth of 3.2% compared to the previous year, and reached a total of 234.07 million accesses at the end of the year.
