Satellite Map Day 2022

Hughes ratifies landing in Argentina withJupiter 3 commissioning

Hugo Frega, General Manager of CALA Group of Hughes , confirmed that "it is imminent" the start of the company's operations in Argentina from the start of service of Jupiter 3 satellite, scheduled for next year. In addition, he announced that both residential and corporate services will be provided and that they are in permanent dialogue with Arsat to coordinate the deployment.

"The project requires satellite capacity as a first step and that is imminent," Frega said at the Satellite Map Day 2022 organized by Convergencialatina. "The project remains firm, we will be operationally launching Jupiter 3 capacity with more than 15 Gb to serve several million users," he added.

Regarding the work with Arsat, he pointed out: “We are talking with our partner Arsat to work on it in coordination with them. We believe in that market and in the Argentine market, hence the investment we have made. We have a common denominator with Arsat and that is that we bet on the Ka gang”. He specified that both the consumer and corporate markets work together with the Argentine state company and that the novelty scheduled for 2023 "without any doubt will open many job sources".
